I love digital art because the process of creating it is just so much fun. Not that traditional media is not fun, but there is just something really exciting about the endless amount of tweaking that is available in paint programs. Piling on another ten layers to get a bit of detail just right, trying out a number filters to get a certain effect, playing with color settings, creating brushes, and so on. Which is how this particular piece came about. It is not particularly subtle as far as incorporating the Nvidia logo, but it is a representation of sorts of the type of art I like to do best when it comes to creating it digitally. I am partial to the process of starting out with simple shapes and images then manipulating them until they become dramatized and somewhat abstract versions of themselves.

Which is what art is to me, taking simple, recognizable, everyday things and presenting them in a new or different sort of way. It is not even so much about a specific message as it is sharing how you see the world and the things in it. And with digital media the possibilities are vast and growing in number daily as the technology changes. I love seeing how other digital artists use the medium, discovering and sharing new techniques. While they do have roots in traditional media, digital techniques are becoming a language of their own, a distinctive new way to tell a story, to share an idea.
